We're looking for high potential students. We currently have students enrolled who are nurses or in the medical field (RN, LVN, nursing student). If you have a background in healthcare, or have experience in professional interpreting, you need to have a medical interpreter certificate in your language pair in order to document not just your language skills but your professional interpreting skills. Our mentors/instructors are healthcare professionals and professional interpreters who are highly qualified to teach interpreters. Learn from the best!
Meet our medical mentor Christina, LPN, RN.
My name is Christina Nguyen-Wren.
My first language is Vietnamese. I came to the United States as an adult and completed LPN training in 2010. I graduated from Culture Advantage in 2012 from the Vietnamese Program. I am now a registered nurse in Missouri.
I have been a mentor for almost several years and I enjoy helping students online and on conference calls. I have been working as an interpreter in person as well as over the phone interpreter. I gain new knowledge for each new case that I have. Besides, I also feel that I have helped many people whose English is limited. I help the patients understand their illness better so that when they leave the doctor office or hospital, their mind is at rest for knowing that their questions and worries have been answered and explained.
Now, that I am an RN, I still want to continue helping new students to get a firm understanding of medical language in Vietnamese and English.
I enjoy working with Culture Advantage, thank you very much for giving me the opportunities to help new students so that they can help the Vietnamese community in their city/state.
Culture Advantage is proud for having Christina as a mentor in the Vietnamese Medical Interpreter Program!
