Introducing our most recent graduate in the Japanese program!

Akie Tasaka.

Akie took the Professional English-Japanese Medical Interpreter Program so she could volunteeer as an interpreter at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, the Olympics has been postponed. We are sending our best wishes for Akie for next Tokyo Olympics. She took the program while living in Japan.

Tamaki Courtney

Another graduate is Tamaki Courtney who graduated from the Professional English-Japanese Medical Interpreter Program several years ago. As a nurse, she became one of our Japanese mentors.

Our current mentor is Sakae Seki, MSN, CCRN, with experience in critical care nursing and as a clinical nurse instructor.

You can learn a lot from Sakae and she is an excellent mentor who enjoys the practice sessions with students. She took the Culture Advantage Japanese Terminology Course.

- Online Courses -

Convenient online format. We offer two program options.

Option 1: General Medical Interpreter Training 40-Hour Course. This course is designed for native-language speakers of Japanese, or professionals who have completed high school education in Japan. This program prepares you for general medical interpreting in clinics and community health.

Option 2: Professional 60-Hour Language-specific Program. This program prepares you with the professional knowledge and skills to work side-by-side with physicians and other healthcare professionals where a broad background knowledge of medical concepts in both languages is critical such as in hospitals, medical centers, outpatient diagnostic and surgery centers, medical specialties such as urology, orthopedics, etc. Candidate must be able to read and write in Japanese at a high school level and have a college background.
