From a strong foundation to comprehensive evaluation Medical Coaching in English Marlene Obermeyer, or another Subject Matter Expert Mentor, reviews the English assignments and oral exams, and conducts live coaching sessions, and provides real-time feedback and language coaching during English medical concepts sessions. Medical Coaching in the Non-English Language Marlene, along with a language mentor, will review assignments and oral exams and provide feedback to improve accuracy, fluency, and ability to express medical concepts in both languages. Professional Interpreting Skills Coaching with personalized feedback from a healthcare professional. This immediate response, either positive or constructive feedback, deepens the student's learning, helps the student retain the information, facilitates recall, clinical application, and importantly, promotes clinical interpreting accuracy of even complex medical concepts. |
The Comprehensive Final Evaluation (CFE) is a summative evaluation of student performance. The CFE includes 1: Final Exam: Medical Concepts in Both Languages. 2: Sight Translation and Consecutive Interpreting in Both Languages. Both these first two exams are similar to the format of the national certification exams. 3: The Oral Skills Performance Evaluation is a live evaluation of the interpreter's knowledge and skills. It is an all-around evaluation of actual interpreting performance in both languages, with evaluation by a healthcare professional and a professional medical interpreter. Minority Languages and the 40-Hour Program may differ in format from the 60-Hour Program. |
